Dr Vladimir Agranat has obtained PhD in Fluid Mechanics from Tomsk State University (1978) and completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Thermal Hydraulics at the University of Toronto (1995-1998). He has more than 40 years of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience in academia and industry including more than 15 years of teaching and research in academia and more than 25 years of applied CFD training and consulting services in Canada, USA and worldwide. Applied CFD is the use of fluid mechanics, applied mathematics and computational software to perform computer simulation/prediction and visualization of fluid (gas/liquid) flows, heat/mass transfer and chemical reactions occurring in industrial/environmental settings. Vladimir’s main strength is solving challenging multiphase and multi-physics real-life CFD problems. He has been using CFD for various industrial and environmental applications (indoor/outdoor air quality, virus transmission, green and healthy buildings, green hydrogen production and safety, wildfire propagation, gas-liquid flows in nuclear reactors, etc.).

Over the last 25 years, he has been managing and delivering CFD training and consulting projects in a wide area of applications. Since 1998, he has been a President and Lead CFD Consultant of an engineering consulting company, ACFDA, providing applied CFD services for academic, research and industrial clients in Canada, USA and other countries. Also, he has undertaken research at the University of Toronto, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and Stuart Energy Systems. Vladimir is the author of more than 90 technical papers on Fluid Dynamics, Heat/Mass Transfer and Combustion.
